Navigating Metrix Learning

If you are new to Metrix Learning, you can view the Metrix Learning Tutorial which will help orient you to all of the tools available. Please note that depending on your organization’s site customizations, some features may be restricted or unavailable.

You can browse the Catalog via keyword search or browse our preset Skill Tracks and Industry Certification tracks by going to your navigation menu and clicking on “Catalog.”

You can also find courses by completing the Career Pathways assessment to get course recommendations for various skills.

If your account has restrictions on browsing the Catalog, you will only be able to take courses that were pre-assigned to your learning plan by an administrator or program manager.

If your account does not have an active Metrix Learning license, you will not be able to view, add, or launch courses to take.

If your account has catalog restrictions on it, you will only be able to access pre-assigned courses that were assigned by an administrator or program manager.

Launching Courses

All courses that you have added to your Plan can be launching from your Plan page. Click on the course name to launch the course or hover over the course name to see the ‘Launch’ link. The course will then open in a new browser window or tab. If a new window/tab does not open, you may need to allow pop-up windows in your web broswer.

All courses require having an active learning license on your Metrix Learning account. Typically, a license is valid for 6-months or 1-year periods. If your license has expired, you will need to request a new license from your organization to continue taking courses.

If you have opened your course and see an error message, please take a screenshot of the error message and submit the screenshot and the name of the course you were accessing to our customer support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Reports & Certificates

In order to qualify as complete, when you launch the course, all of the sections as shown in your course’s Table of Contents need to be completed. This means that you need to have a score or the status bubble needs to have been filled in with green to show that you have been through all of the sections of the course. Please check the Table of Contents to ensure you have completed all sections of the course.

Course statuses and scores do not update immediately in your Report. There is a delay in the system updates, and it can take 24 hours to update scores and your recorded activity hours.

For learners completing courses as part of your required activity hours, the system only records time that you are active within the course itself. While you may be reviewing material externally on your notes or another website, the system only records time that you are actively engaging with the course.

The system will stop recording time if the course idles for too long. If you are working from a cellphone and your internet connection is unstable, the system will also stop recording time.

Each course has a designated Estimated Course Length. If you complete the course in 15 minutes when the Estimated Course Length is 1 hour, you will only receive credit for the 15 minutes of activity time you spent in the course.

Courses without a course test at the end must be watched the entire duration of the course in order for the course to be marked as completed.

All activity hours are updated in the reports on a daily basis, however, due to how system processes run, course activity and statuses do not update immediately. Ensure that you give yourself ample time to complete hours so that the reports are updated by your activity deadline.

  • For example, if you complete activity hours at 10pm on Monday, the recorded activity would get processed on Tuesday and is fully viewable in reports on Wednesday.

In order to receive your Certificate of Completion, you need to have completed the course and have an overall score of 80% or higher on the course. Courses without a course test at the end must be watched the entire duration of the course in order for the course to be marked as completed.

You can download your Certificate of Completion from your Report by clicking on the certificate icon next to the course name.
